What to Expect at Your Initial Visit
We want your first visit to be as pleasant as possible and we want you to know what to expect. We want our patients to be treated in a warm and compassionate manner. When you visit us for the first time, you will be seen by one of our vascular physicians, Dr. Bocharov, Dr. Lamm, or Dr. Geskin. They will do a complete evaluation with emphasis to your vascular history. To assist with this process, please be sure to bring your insurance cards, a list of your current medications, and any test results that you may have had done in the past. The doctor will use this information along with his or her evaluation to form a plan of care that may include ordering appropriate testing and prescribing compression stockings. Most insurance companies require you to wear compression stockings for 3 months prior to having any venous procedure. Usually, the doctor will order an ultrasound to assess venous anatomy which is done right in our office at your next visit. After the ultrasound is done, you will see your physician once again to review the results with you and discuss possible treatment options.
Gennady Geskin, M.D.
Dr. Geskin has a special interest in interventional cardiology and all aspects of vascular care.
Making a Difference, Every Day
"Even if you're dealing with an extremely serious heart or vascular condition, the newest, high-tech procedures I specialize in can help you live a healthier life. I am a naturally positive person, so I'm glad to be able to give you good news like this. I'm also grateful that my knowledge, skill and experience can make a difference for you and your family.
Caring for people on a personal level is the most satisfying part of what I do every day. I get to know my patients and treat them the way I would want to be treated in a similar situation. Respect and compassion for our patients are important at Jefferson Cardiology Association, and I believe it makes all the difference in the quality of your care."
Maxim Bocharov, M.D.
Residency: Internal Medicine,
Dr. Bocharov worked as a hospitalist until 2010. He joined Greater Pittsburgh Vascular Associates after completing Critical Care Fellowship in June of 2012.
Dr. Bocharov has extensive experience in a wide variety of invasive procedures and ultrasound. He is very excited to provide treatment to patients with chronic venous insufficiency ranging from spider and varicose veins to venous ulcers. He performs state-of-the-art techniques such as EVLT (endovenous laser treatment), RFA (radiofrequency ablation), and ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy. These procedures have replaced vein stripping and enabled him to treat patients in the office setting under local anesthesia, with minimal discomfort and virtually no scarring. You may be assured that Dr. Bocharov will put you at ease with his friendly manners and down to earth personality.
Inna Lamm, M.D.
Residency: Internal Medicine, UPMC Shadyside
Dr. Lamm completed her residency in 2001. After graduation she practiced at The Specialist, Inc in Mount Lebanon until 2006 and later at Arnold Family Practice in Forest Hills until 2011. Dr. Lamm joined our group in June of 2011 after receiving an extensive training in phlebology with Dr Geskin.
"Millions of people suffer from varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency. Most patients are not aware of state-of-the-art treatments available. Many had been suffering for years and lost hope of being helped" I am very fortunate to be a part of Greater Pittsburgh Vascular Associates. Our team provides comprehensive care to thousands of people with a full spectrum of venous diseases. I greatly enjoy meeting new patients, getting to know them, helping them to understand venous anatomy, physiology, and treatment options. I put a lot of emphasis on lifestyle modifications to not only prevent the progression of venous disease but also to improve overall health. During follow-up visits I share excitement with my patients as most of them achieve amazing results.”
